Community Partners Unite for Iberia Boys & Girls Club Annual Wellness Fun Day

New Iberia, LA – Iberia Boys & Girls Club is excited to host its upcoming Wellness Fun Day, a community event focused on promoting healthy lifestyles, physical activity, and overall wellness for local youth before the start of the new school year. The event will take place on Thursday, July 23, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Boys & Girls Club, located at 430 E. Pershing Street in New Iberia.

This year’s event has expanded through a collaborative partnership between Humana’s Medicaid health plan, Humana Healthy Horizons in Louisiana, Kiwanis Club of New Iberia, and Boys & Girls Clubs of Acadiana, bringing together organizations dedicated to improving the health and well-being of youth and teens throughout Iberia Parish.

“Partnerships like this allow us to provide experiences for our members that go beyond the traditional club day,” said Brianna Davis, Parish Director of Iberia Boys & Girls Clubs. “Because of Humana Healthy Horizons in Louisiana’s generous support and Kiwanis’ continued dedication to service, we are able to create an impactful day focused on wellness, connection, and preparing our youth for a successful school year.”

Nearly 200 youth will participate in a variety of engaging activities, including:

  • Wellness education and health discussions
  • Health and wellness screenings
  • Healthy snack and parfait stations
  • Physical fitness activities and sports enrichment
  • Inflatables and interactive games
  • A petting zoo experience
  • Arts and creativity activities
  • School supply distribution to help members prepare for the upcoming school year

Humana Healthy Horizon in Louisiana’s support has helped expand the event by helping provide additional resources, activities, and supplies for youth participants. Kiwanis Club of New Iberia will continue its longstanding tradition of volunteer service by providing event support, supplies, and volunteers who will assist throughout the day.

“Community partnerships are essential in helping children and families thrive,” Davis added. “When organizations come together with a shared mission, we can create meaningful opportunities that impact youth today and strengthen our community for tomorrow.”

The event will include volunteers from Kiwanis Club of New Iberia, Humana Healthy Horizons in Louisiana, and community supporters who will assist with activity stations, food distribution, youth engagement, and event operations.
