MONROE, April 22, 2024 — United States Senator John Kennedy announced his commitment to support Boys & Girls Clubs across the state through a $182,425 donation at the Monroe & West Monroe/West Quachita Chamber of Commerce Luncheon.
Funds for this donation were raised during the Economic Development Luncheon co-hosted by the St. Tammany and Monroe Chamber during DC Mardi Gras. Nearly 900 elected, business, and economic and chamber leaders attended the event.
Senator Kennedy presented the check at the University of Louisiana Monroe to Boys & Girls Clubs in Louisiana CEO’s Angel Nelson, Metro Louisiana, Rhyan Wheeler, Acadiana, and Eldontá Osborne, North Louisiana.
“Louisiana’s young people are the future of our great state, and I’m thankful to the Boys & Girls Clubs for investing in them tirelessly,” said Senator Kennedy.
“The investment made by Senator Kennedy provides, the youth who need us most, opportunities to build a bright future. The Boys & Girls Clubs is dedicated to ensuring that our young people have the necessary tools and resources to succeed. We are so grateful for his support in the Boys & Girls Club movement,” said Wheeler.
